Every once and again, I’ll get an email from a lovely, heart-driven, important cause and find myself shaking my head and muttering softly, “No, no, no, no, no…”

Because I see errors in copy, layout that doesn’t work on mobile devices (often where I’m reading these emails) and missed opportunities to really make an impact. 

Email is the workhorse of your nonprofit marketing communications - dependable, powerful, and versatile. It is unparalleled for driving up awareness, strengthening connections with your supporters and - if you really take advantage of what it has to offer - raising the funds you need to move your mission forward.

But you have to know how to use it effectively, and part of that is avoiding the mistakes that can cost your time, money and frustration.
